 MAIN GUIDE
« Thread Started on Jun 22, 2009, 11:43pm »

New Members!

1. Thanks so much for joining, you'll love it here!!!
2. Make a character under "Funky Monks" then "Biographies".
3. Next go to the bank and set up an account. Start a new thread titled with your characters last name.
4. Now you can make some horses! Go into “Funky Monks” then “Planning” followed by “Trading Post” then access the stickied thread, “From Scratch” and follow the steps there!
5. Role play with your horse, show your horse, buy things, meet new people, do whatever!!!! You are now free to do anything you want. Have fun!!!
6. Also you MUST post a minimum of 200words when role playing! This isn’t much people!
*KEEPING IN MIND: you do not have to have a horse, so feel free to just do steps 1-3 and then have some mad fun and role play!

Basic Horse Rules

1. Horses that are neglected or not taken care of will be sent to the Trading Post, where you cannot get them back. So please take good care of your horses!
2. You don’t have your horses as characters, you power play them through your human character!
3. Horses can only compete in riding competitions between the age of 4-18
5. Compete with your horses lots too!
6. Disciplines allowed are games (gymkhanas etc), dressage, show jumping, cross country. (so this obviously means horse trials combining dressage, show jumping and cross country are allowed, so are combined training days which combine show jumping and dressage!) Also we allow led events, though these mainly focus on miniature horses and horses younger than 4!

Money

1. New Members begin with $5000
2. Keep your expenses up-to-date, or else an admin will consult you about it.
3. To earn money try breeding horses, offering stallions or mares for breeding. Buy foals and train them up to sell for a high price or go down to one of the stores and work. If you are hired for every 1 word you post you gain $1 (you must role play you’re character actually working!)
4. You gain $3 per post, and $10 per advertisement you make!

Shows

1. Only staff can host shows!
2. Shows are judged on rider and horse points, I will use dice and chance for a lot of these. And I will fill out Dressage results with proper Dressage scoring system ;)
3. Make sure you ONLY enter shows that you meet the requirements for!
4. Every year the ‘Arrowfield E.C. Annual Show” is held, extra points are given out for this, and it is the biggest even of the year!

Points

Points in this game are very, very important. They basically keep the game interesting and competitive. The point of 'Riding Points' are to show how much your horse is worth, also how skilled a rider your character is! If your horse has more points then it is a better horse! If it has only a few points then it isn’t the best horse. But you can show, ride, and train your horses and this will make them gain points. Below is a list of things you can do to earn points for your horses.

*You can book lessons to gain points for the rider and the horse you have the lesson on!

*The main place to earn points is at a show. Shows are the place where al your hard work pays off! You earn lots of points from shows, and the higher you place, the higher amount of points you earn. Below is the list of points you earn from a specified placement in a show.

1st - 100
2nd - 90
3rd - 80
4th - 70
5th - 60
6th - 50
7th and below – 40
*although for certain competitions points may vary!

Grades.

After your horse earns so many points, you can start to say that he is at a specific level. For instance, after your horse earns __ points he is a _ grade horse. This is just another cool way of saying how important your horses are.

Grades...
Grade 5 - 500 pts
Grade 4 - 1000 pts
Grade 3- 2000 pts
Grade 2- 3000 pts
Grade 1- 4000 pts
Preliminary - 5000 pts
Novice - 6000 pts
Elementary - 7000 pts
Medium - 8000 pts
Advanced - 9000 pts
+10,000 Hall Of Fame

GAMES!

This is a tricky part of the game! Horses compete in show jumping, dressage, cross country, led shows etc! But if a horse competes in games it ONLY does games!
A games horse will firstly compete in led shows from the ages 6months - 6years. Then after that they are trained in Games.
There are some SERIOUS! Games requirements, if your horse does not meet these, it cannot be a games horse!
Must be ages 6 - 15!
Must be under 16.1hands!
Once a Games horse reaches 15 the sport is too rigorous for their legs! They will not succeed in Dressage either and therefore must be trained in Show Jumping only, or retired and used for breeding purposes?
