Being the air headed dreamer that i was it took me a lot longer than it should have to arrive back at my dorm. After using the drainpipe and lattice to pull myself up I spent a great deal of time sitting on the tiled roof of the dormitory, watching the sun as it drifted restlessly towards its state of slumber. The air was cooler now, my hair had dried in soft waving ringlets that fell neatly over my shoulders. i was glad i wasn't wet anymore, else the crisp twilight air would be near unbearable. Nevertheless i was soon covered in a layer of goosebumps, i continuously rubbed my upper arms, hoping to put a little warmth back into my bones. For a while it sustained my body heat but eventually i sighed in defeat and began to make my way back down towards the back drain pipe once more.
Ty and Pandora weren't present when i climbed clumsily through the window into our room so i pulled the fly screen back from where i had sat it on the ground outside and carefully slid it back in place. Of course it wasn't necessary for me to go to such extremes simply to enter or exit the room, it was more a bad habbit than anything else. Just like biting one's fingernails, annoying but harmless. Once i was done replacing the fly screen i turned and looked the messy room over, stifling a laugh and shaking my head, a typical teenage scenario. Frankly, the room looked as if a bomb had hit it. I hastily threw a pair of jeans that i was sure didn't belong to me from the end of my bed into the crammed wardrobe that occupied the whole western wall and proceeded to retrieve a towel before jumping in the shower, shivering at the warm temperature of the water on my cold skin.
After i had finished washing the sand - the sand which i swear reappeared everytime i washed it away in every place possible - and had thrown on some clean clothes i casually glanced at the clock hanging by the Dorm door. A little over an hour had passed since i'd left the beach. i wondered what Nate was doing, contemplating whether he would have left the stable yet or not, and smiled as i thought of our afternoon at the beach. I really had enjoyed myself, and was looking forward to seeing the boy again. Shaking my head i turned and wandered back to the bathroom, turning on my hair straightener and watching impatiently as the little red light flashed until the iron was hot enough to use. I had to admit, by now i had the art of hair straightening down pat. I considered my reflection in the mirror for a second once i was done, ruffling my hands through my hair, another one of those annoying habbits, before wandering aimlessly back to the main room and flicking through my most recent iPod playlist.
Selecting a song at random i barely hesitated to turn the speakers they were connected to up as far as they would go. I was in no mood to be even slightly considerate to the comfort of those in neighbouring dorm rooms. Bit of music never hurt anybody. I took a quick glance out the window, unsure if i was meant to be expecting a car or a knock at the door. The street was empty, regardless. So i sauntered off to brush my teeth, a great way to waste time. I didn't think i had gotten too carried away with cleaning them but apparantly i had taken longer than i thought for when i returned to the window a few mintues later i noticed that there indeed was a car parked very 'inconspicuously' outside. A single butterfly made its way through my stomach as my eyes caught him leaning casually against the hood. He was just as stunning as i had remembered, although with a more rebellious edge to him having been coupled with a car and minus the beach atire.
For the second time that day i slid the fly screen from its intended place and climbed through the window, not bothering to replace it before i ran excitedly towards Nate's car. MORNING. i called enthusiastically, although clearly the sun had made its departure and the term 'good evening' would have been a better selected alternative. I wasted no time with timid hesitations as i jumped onto Nate, wrapping him in a hyperactive, rough embrace for just a second before stepping back a few steps, a contemplative, regretful expression on my face. i brought one hand to my mouth before gesturing softly with my eyes at his car. oh, i apologise. i think i may have just caused your car some kind of external damage with that very dangerous manuever. Of course there was not a mark on his car, but it was often the panick that such a suggestion to the male species that their pride and joy was damaged in any way or form that was incredibly fun. Even more so when they realise that it was just a joke. I was enjoying myself already.
